Research

Promote, Protect, and Prevent

Humans are routinely exposed to a variety of chemical, microbial, and physical hazards in the environment. Research is needed to determine how these environmental exposures relate to human health outcomes at the population level. ESRAC’s main goal is to bring together researchers and sponsors with a common interest of assessing human health risks and risk reduction strategies.

ESRAC Research Themes

These themes drive our research in various focus areas:

  • Identification and monitoring of hazards in the environment
  • Quantification of hazard levels that lead to adverse health outcomes
  • Assessment of how populations are exposed
  • Characterization of health risks at the population level
  • Development and evaluation of risk management practices
  • Promotion and assessment of outreach and educational programs
